When Lori and I first visited the Riviera Maya many years ago, the thought of all-inclusive resorts in Tulum seemed far-fetched.
Tulum was better known then for its crumbling Mayan ruins overlooking white beaches and turqoise waters. And the village of Tulum was merely a stopover point for refueling or grabbing a quick taco.
Those days are long gone, and while the beautiful beaches and photogenic temples remain, the former rustic village character of Tulum has been transformed into a more cosmopolitan, upmarket destination sporting an eco-aware, wellness-centered vibe with a vibrant nightlife.
We think it’s important to note that while there are a TON of hotels and resorts competing for your business in the Tulum these days, you really need to read the fineprint to figure out which ones offer traditional all-inclusive packages.
We put together this hand-crafted guide to [what we think are] the best Tulum all-inclusive resorts to help you navigate the overwhelming sea of options and hopefully get your vacation off on the right foot.

Bahia Principe Grand Tulum
Dolphinaris ▪ Golf Nearby ▪ Kid’s Club

Bahia Principe Grand Tulum tops our list for its impressive list of adult- AND family-focused activities and facilities, swank and comfy accommodation, and overall value for the money—this place has it all!
Fresh off a massive nature-inspired renovation, the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum boasts sophisticated modern and Mayan design elements against one heck of a beachfront backdrop.
Want to relax? We think you’ll have no shortage of options for kicking back, with the onsite full-service Bahia Spa, three swimming pools, comfy and spacious rooms, and beautiful beach. Or you can go chill out in one of four restaurants and six bars.
Want action and adventure? They’ve got a TON to please guests of all ages for days on end. From diving and kayaking to golf, live music, Mini-Club kids club (ages 4-11), babysitter services (for an added fee)—and even a chance to swim with dolphins at the Dolphinaris—the hardest part of staying here will be deciding what to do next.
✪ We think Bahia Principe Grand Tulum is ideal for Active honeymooners, families, and other travelers looking for a balance of recreation and relaxation in a chic, full-service resort.
✪ Location 28 minutes north of Tulum archeological zone, and 80 minutes by taxi from Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa
Adults-Only Section ▪ Kid’s Club ▪ Golf Nearby
Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa is one of the closer options on our list to Tulum’s archeological zone, yet it still feels a world apart from the jam-packed tourist mecca of central Tulum.
Loaded with charm and elegance, Dreams Tulum seamlessly blends Mexican colonial styling with modern design and comfy amenities.
We think honeymooners will appreciate the secluded adults-only section of the resort, while families will love the wide range of services and facilities made just for kids, like the Explorer’s Club kid’s club (ages 3-12) and Core Zone teen’s club (ages 13-17).
Dreams Tulum offers 432 comfy guest rooms, including swim-out suites with direct access to one of the resorts large pools.
For kicking back, there’s Dreams Spa by Pevonia and nine restaurants and seven bars to choose from. When you’re ready for a bit of action, Dreams Tulum offers complimentary green fees at Riviera Golf Club, a ton of aquatic activities, and even a nightclub.
Founders of the Tulum Foundation, ecological preservation and social responsibility are at the core of Dreams Tulum Resort—yet another reason why this is high up on our list of best all-inclusive resorts in Tulum.
✪ We think Dreams Tulum is ideal for Just about anybody!
✪ Location 16 minutes north of Tulum archeological zone, and 90 minutes by taxi from Cancun International Airport (CUN).

With spacious family suites in villa-style accommodation, two lagoon pools, waterpark, Dolphinaris, baby station, free cribs and mini beds, Mini Club kid’s club, mini disco, and teen’s club, and seven restaurants and seven bars, Bahia Principe Grand Coba is undeniably well-suited and geared towards families!

What are the best family-friendly all-inclusive Tulum resorts?
So many all-inclusive resorts along the Riviera Maya are geared to couples and adults. You may have to dig a little deeper, but there are quite a few excellent family-friendly all-inclusive resorts to be found as well, particularly in Tulum and Cozumel.
Our current favorite among these (and quite possibly the best all-inclusive family-friendly resort in Tulum) is Bahia Principe Grand Coba. You can read more about their services and amenities for families and kids in our guide, above.
What are the best adults-only Tulum all-inclusive resorts?
Now, if you’re looking for a stay just for grown-ups, Tulum and the Riviera Maya have no shortage of top adults-only resorts. But only a few Tulum all-inclusive resorts stand out from the bunch.

Do any all-inclusive resorts in Tulum have a pool?
But of course! We’re not sure if all of the all-inclusive resorts in Tulum have pools, but certainly all six on our list of best Tulum all-inclusive resorts do! Many even offer multiple outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzis, and even waterparks!
Final Thoughts

Having lived in Mexico for the past five years, Lori and I love getting to put together articles like this one focused on exceptional stays in some of our favorite spots around the country.
Having had the opportunity to explore both of Mexico’s breathtaking coasts for more than a decade, and now living here with our two boys, Mexico holds a special place in our hearts.
The first time we visited Tulum, we were immediately struck by the welcoming vibe, eco-friendly and socially conscious mentality of the community, and of course, the stunning Caribbean beaches and ruins that put Tulum on the tourist map.
These days, Tulum also offers an unparalleled diversity of quality restaurants, an eco-friendly and socially conscious mentality, and countless wellness retreats and outdoor activities within a stone’s throw of town.
Despite the growing numbers of visitors to Tulum in recent years, this unique part of the Riviera Maya is still very much worth a visit.
We’re excited to be able to share this stunning corner of the globe with visitors from across the globe, while helping travelers like yourself tick off your own travel bucket list.
